No BS Python is a local-first learning app for Python practice. The app is designed to work without a login, backend account, ads, tracking SDKs, or direct payment collection.
Data Stored On The Device
The app stores these items locally on the user's device:
- Display name or nickname
- Optional sex/gender text, if the user enters it
- Age mode selection: kid, teen, or adult
- Learning goal, skill level, preferred tone, theme, font, emoji pack, and mascot settings
- Lesson progress, XP, streaks, badges, saved code, saved builds, notes, and tags
- Workshop customization, reward state, and project blueprint progress
- Exported code, notes, and build summaries created by the user
Sharing And Exports
The app shares content only when the user chooses a share or export action. The share preview screen lets the user choose whether to include code, notes, progress, display name, and the app tagline.
Private profile details are not included in shared text unless the user chooses to include them.
Network, Ads, And Tracking
This build does not use a backend service, analytics tracking, advertising, or third-party ad networks. It does not collect payment card information.
Purchases, when available, use Google Play Billing. No payment details are collected directly inside the app.
Code Safety
The app does not run arbitrary Python code. Challenge checks use safe text and pattern validation. Future code execution, if added, must use a sandboxed runner with timeouts, restricted commands, no dangerous file deletion, and no network abuse.
Cybersecurity Content
Cybersecurity lessons must stay defensive, legal, and lab-only. The app should not teach offensive hacking or unauthorized access.
Children And Families
Kid mode keeps app messages friendly, clean, and profanity-free. The app avoids harsh mocking and does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information from children.
User Control
Users can change their profile and settings in the app. Saved builds can be renamed, copied, exported, shared, or deleted by the user. Removing the app from the device may remove locally stored app data depending on Android settings and backups.
Users can also clear local data through Android app settings.
